Biography

Juan Polanco is a Latin American entrepreneur, researcher and business consultant who is passionate about social innovation and technology. He is the President of Australian-Latin American Young Professionals (ALAYP), a not-for-profit organisation aimed at fostering networking, entrepreneurship, business and career opportunities between Latin American and Australian professionals.

Juan is the founder of iNovoTech, an R&D innovation hub that supports business innovation through the development of customised technologies and the integration of innovation into business strategies. He also is co-founder of TIME-RX, a healthcare social enterprise that provides diagnostic imaging services to indigenous and rural communities in Colombia. 

Juan’s background is in mechatronics engineering. He is an alumnus of The University of Queensland, where he completed a Master of Technology and Innovation Management degree. He also completed a Masters of Engineering Science by research in 2013 while in Colombia. Juan’s experience and academic journey have shaped him to become an accomplished inventor and social entrepreneur. Juan is currently working on projects aimed to set commercial strategies to maximise improvements in business growth and human and environmental wellbeing.
