Biography

Valeria Jimenez is a Mexican video producer and co-founder of the Brisbane based media agency Aztec Visuals. She is very passionate about media for development and as such focuses on producing videos and media that can be used as a tool to inspire people and create a positive impact in the world.  Valeria started her career producing Human Rights, Political Participation and Gender Equality documentaries for the United Nations in Papua New Guinea. Since then, she has been responsible for the development and coordination of media productions for Aztec Visuals’ clients, with a focus on supporting not-for-profit organisations, private enterprises and start-ups.

She holds a B.A. in Film Production from SAE Institute and a Certificate IV in Small Business Management. In 2017, she was awarded one of the Lord Mayor’s Multicultural Business Scholarships and is a 2018-19 Lord Mayor of Brisbane’s Multicultural Round Table Business Mentoring Scheme Recipient. And she is currently part of the communications team of UNAAQLD (United Nations Association of Australia, Queensland Division).
