Chief Executive Officer, Trade and Investment Queensland 


Virginia joined Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) in January 2017 and brought with her a wealth of international trade and diplomatic experience. In her most recent position, she was Australia’s Ambassador to Spain, Andorra and Equatorial Guinea. Virginia has also been Australia’s Ambassador to Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela.

Virginia has held senior domestic positions in government including Director of the NSW State Office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Virginia has significant experience in supporting, dealing and negotiating with a range of governments, international markets and industries.

TIQ is the government’s dedicated global business agency, helping Queensland exporters take their products to world markets and promoting Queensland as the perfect place for investment. TIQ promotes Queensland as an attractive place to source clean, green and sustainable food products. It is also the place to access innovative agri-business services and technologies and forge investment partnerships.

TIQ has 15 trade and investment offices in 12 markets and a significant regional Queensland presence in nine locations.
