Kaori Sugita

Kaori is currently on secondment as an International Visits and Event Officer. She joined the International Development team in 2019 as a Development Assistant, where she provides logistical support to tender preparations and Short Courses through working with various clients, specialists, institutions and stakeholders. As an emerging development professional, Kaori has undertaken fieldwork in rural Cambodia and supported refugee resettlement in Brisbane. She has also worked in the startup space, most recently leading the pilot for a social enterprise supporting refugee women in Brisbane. She is also passionate about sustainable business development and was involved in the Asia Pacific Cities Summit in 2019 as a Young Professional. She holds a Bachelor of International Relationships from Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, Japan, and completed a Master of Peace and Conflict Studies from The University of Queensland in 2018.
