Akanksha Phukan

Akanksha is a graduate of UQ's Master of Peace and Conflict Studies and has a great passion for research and development in the field of gender and human rights. She has worked across various grassroot organisations in India on projects related to Post Traumatic Stress Disorders in the villages of Assam, India and is currently volunteering as a Refugee tutor in Runcorn on the weekends. She has previously worked with UQ as a Student Partner with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to co-develop and co-design the Leadership intensive workshop and modules to foster professional development skills among the students of HASS. Akanksha recently joined the International Development team as a Development Assistant to aid and assist in the implementation, management and execution of the various development projects undertaken by the unit.
