Collaboration in action
- More than 400 University of Queensland students will have the valuable opportunity to travel to the Indo-Pacific region to gain practical experience next year under the New Colombo Plan Mobility program.
- Six University of Queensland students have been awarded Westpac Bicentennial Foundation Asian Exchange Scholarships. The $12,000 bursaries fund students to spend a semester studying at a leading Asian university.
- Ten collaborative research projects – ranging from bioengineering to the well being of refugees – have been successful in the first round of the 2017 UQ Global Strategy and Partnerships Seed Funding Scheme.
- Seven University of Queensland undergraduates will study in destinations around the Indo‑Pacific region after being named as 2017 Fellows and scholars under the New Colombo Plan.
- UQ student Patrick Walsh, 22, is one of seven UQ undergraduate students to receive New Colombo Plan scholarships in this round, with other recipients heading to Indonesia, Singapore, Japan and South Korea.
