UQ in Indonesia and Vietnam
UQ has an office in Indonesia and a representative on the ground in Vietnam to foster engagement with universities, government agencies, corporate networks, and non-governmental organisations, and to support alumni and student recruitment in the region.
Collaboration in action
- The University of Queensland (UQ) has secured two of seven successful projects in a highly competitive international health research funding round, strengthening the University’s growing collaboration with Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region.
- A University of Queensland–led global health initiative aimed at strengthening dengue early warning systems has reached a major milestone during an intensive field visit to Vietnam, formalising new partnerships with key national public health institutions and advancing the project towards large scale implementation.
- The University of Queensland (UQ) has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing education and research partnerships with Vietnam through a new agreement under Vietnam’s Project 89 initiative.
- The University of Queensland (UQ) and Universitas Indonesia (UI) have launched the UI-UQ Collaboration Centre to deepen academic exchange and advance research and innovation in the Southeast Asia region.
- After a competitive selection process, 7 initiatives have been awarded funding totalling $100,000 for Round Two of the University of Queensland (UQ) Global Partnerships Funding Scheme in 2025.
- In a compelling example of international collaboration and strategic learning, Lao government officials have developed a comprehensive road safety reform plan for Vientiane Capital, following their participation in the Australia Awards Short Course in Strategic Analysis and Analytical Writing. Delivered by The University of Queensland (UQ) through its International Development unit, the course is part of the Australian Government’s Mekong-Australia Partnership initiative.
