Collaboration in action
- The UQ-IITD Research Academy is proud to announce that two of its joint PhD candidates, Mr Debarun Banerjee and Ms Shally Gupta, has received the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award 2024 in the Social Technological Innovation category. The awards were presented on 28 January 2026 at the CSIR–National Physical Laboratory in New Delhi.
- Oyunbolor Tserenkhuu, Lead Economist of the Planning and Economic Analysis Division at Erdenet Mining Corporation (EMC), is driving a transformative shift in Mongolia’s mining sector using her new knowledge gained from participating in the Australia Awards – South Asia & Mongolia Carbon Conscious Mining Mongolia Short Course.
- In a major step toward deepening Australia–India research collaboration, The Honorable David Crisafulli MP, Premier of Queensland and Minister for Veterans, visited the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) on 1 September 2025 with a high-level delegation. The visit highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Queensland and India in science, technology, and education.
- The University of Queensland (UQ) and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) Research Academy, in partnership with the CSIR National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO), have won a fellowship grant from the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).
- The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) hosted its 56th Annual Convocation in New Delhi 2 August 2025, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of over 500 doctoral scholars conferred this year. 5 scholars from the UQ-IITD Joint PhD Program were conferred their degrees at the ceremony, bringing the total number of graduands of the Academy to 23, highlighting the strength and success of this international research collaboration.
