Lessons from the past to help the present pandemic response

An international team of experts has outlined ways to manage life during the COVID-19 pandemic, using existing research from the social and behavioural sciences.

Two University of Queensland professors were among the 42 researchers from more than 20 universities across the globe who contributed to the recommendations.

Professor Alex Haslam said the aim was to better equip policymakers, leaders and the public during these difficult times.

“By applying the knowledge gained from earlier research, we hope that public health experts will be better equipped to communicate effectively and drive behaviour change in a manner that yields global benefits,” he said.
