Open Global Opportunities

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) welcomes the early career researchers of recognised Foreign Institutes/Universities for a short-term visiting program. The potential student/researchers can be accepted as a visiting fellow under a MoU or otherwise. The visiting fellow/exchange student needs to identify a host supervisor at IISc for the proposed visit, where the duration of visit could be from minimum of 3 months to maximum of 1 year.
Under this programme, PhD students from outside Singapore will spend a minimum of one to a maximum of two years at A*STAR Research Institutes in Singapore under the joint supervision of the staff of the A*STAR Research Institutes and the overseas universities.

This program offers the opportunity to recruit excellent professors from international partner universities for temporary teaching and research collaborations.

Closed Global Opportunities

The next round of applications is expected to open in early 2025.

The Australian Academy of Science invites expressions of interest from junior scientists who are no more than 30 years of age at time of application, to visit the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States of America. Open to current PhD, final year master's or honours students.
Applications accepted 1 October through 31 January each year. The application for the 2025-26 academic year will open in September 2024.

The McDonnell International Scholars Academy fellowship program cultivates a community of culturally and academically diverse leaders who will address the world’s most complex challenges by driving positive and lasting change. McDonnell Scholars are selected based on their ability to emerge as leaders. Scholars are given a generous financial package to support their graduate and professional degree studies at Washington University in St. Louis.
There are two scholarship application rounds offered each year (one in each direction):
- Australia to USA: Open for application on January 1 to March 31.
- USA to Australia: Open for application on August 1 to September 30.

American Australian Association scholarships and grants provide support to the next generation of American, Native American, Australian and Indigenous Australian individuals to undertake transformational educational study, research and artistic development in each other’s country.

The O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) Naveen Jindal Young Global Research Fellowship is a fully supported international research program designed for early-career and emerging scholars, researchers, and academicians who wish to engage in interdisciplinary research, collaborate with global peers, and receive mentorship from distinguished faculty members at JGU.

Through the UQ–IITD joint PhD program, you can receive a scholarship to study at two world-leading, research-intensive institutions – UQ and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) on multidisciplinary projects. You will study in both Australia and India as a part of your degree. On the successful completion of the program, you will be offered a jointly awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from both UQ and IITD. Applications for the Academy joint PhD program open annually for a July intake.

The Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship (IPDF) scheme at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is open to international postdoctoral candidates (foreign nationality as well as PhD from outside India). This scheme provides a range of benefits with specific key requirements for the application.

This program is an initiative of the UQ-Exeter Institute, a partnership between The University of Queensland (UQ) and the University of Exeter (Exeter). The joint PhD program provides a fantastic opportunity for the exceptional students to work closely with world class research groups and benefit from the combined expertise and facilities offered at both institutions. Full tuition fees, stipend, travel and development funds, and Research Training Support Grants are available to successful applicants.
