The Australia Awards has successfully been operating for over 70 years and welcomes students from a long list of countries.

Australia Awards at UQ

UQ is proud to host one of the largest Australia Awards cohorts in the country.

The UQ student community is lively with multiple events and programs running throughout the year, catering to students' different areas of interest. For example, recent social activities included attending the FIFA Women’s World Cup, visiting art exhibitions, and playing board games.

At UQ you’ll gain access to professional development opportunities including project management, innovation, and leadership to help you stand out from your peers. These activities aim to build on your classroom learnings and to give you variety from your other commitments.

You’ll find a selection of study support services at UQ to aid your studies from additional academic support and library services to fieldwork opportunities. For example, you have access to supplementary academic support and can request a tutor to help with your studies.

To help improve your connections, for both today and your future, you’ll be invited to several networking opportunities from meeting Australian government officials and attending conferences to interacting with other Australia Awards students – locally and nationally.

Being an Australia Awards student at UQ means you will receive exceptional support during your transition to Australia, your studies, and once you’re an alumnus. Welcome to UQ.
