Mr Johan Arnberg, at The University of Queensland (UQ), has been recognised with the prestigious Tracy McCabe Future Leader Fellowship for his outstanding contributions to the international education sector.
The Tracy McCabe Future Leader Fellowship, supported by the Australia Universities International Directors’ Forum (AUIDF), was announced in Melbourne at the recent Australian International Education Conference.
Johan works as Senior Manager of Global Sponsorship and Mobility within Global Partnerships at UQ. In his role he manages sponsored students, Australia Awards scholars, various UQ international scholarships, and mobility programs such as the New Colombo Plan.
“I’m very honoured to be receiving this distinguished award, especially considering the calibre of previous recipients and that it has been selected by International Directors from Australian Universities."
"Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to cross path with Tracy before she passed away. However, I am delighted to hear that I am passing on her legacy through supporting colleagues by establishing various forums, committees and initiatives that ultimately benefits international students across Australia. “ Johan said.
The Fellowship provides an up-and-coming leader in Australian international higher education with a $7,000 fellowship to be used toward a leadership program or other professional development activity. Johan plan to use his grant to study governance with the aim to further improve the international education sector in Australia.
