Erasmus+ Scholarships for TUM - Frequently Asked Questions
How will the applications be assessed?
A final selection and nomination will be made on the basis of your submitted documents in accordance with the university administration requirements. Evaluation criteria has been developed in accordance with the goals mentioned in the announcement, the quality of project description/preparation and demonstrated value and sustainability of the project for both UQ and TUM.
What are the insurance requirements?
All UQ staff who are awarded Erasmus+ funding and travel to Munich to carry out the approved teaching and training staff mobility projects will be required to comply with the UQ Travel Policy in all respects. Staff will be required to complete official UQ Travel approval forms and register their travel on UniFi to ensure the trip is registered as approved UQ business travel. Following these steps, UQ Travel Insurance will be in effect. For more information please see the UQ Travel Website.
What are the reporting requirements?
All UQ staff who are awarded Erasmus+ funding will be required to complete a short survey sent directly to them by the European Union and a brief report for submission to the Technical University of Munich. The report template can be provided to you by TUM prior to your arrival in Munich.
How is payment of the grant managed?
Staff awarded an Erasmus+ mobility grant will be required to complete a range of paperwork that will be provided directly by TUM. The agreement for funding is directly between TUM and the individual (not UQ). In the case where UQ departments outlay the initial costs to cover flight and travel expenses, the individual staff member should liaise with their respective finance department to arrange for reimbursement of funds to UQ. TUM will not transfer staff mobility grant funds directly to UQ. After the staff member handed in the necessary documents the first part of the Erasmus+ grant (travel support +70% of the individual support) will be transferred to the indicated non-EU bank account of the recipient. The remaining 30% of individual support is transferred upon completion of all reporting obligations in accordance with EU regulations.
How many grants will be awarded in this round?
For the 2020-2021 Erasmus+ funding round, a total of 2 outbound staff mobility grants will be awarded to UQ to travel to TUM.
TUM have opened a concurrent call for academics and professional staff to consider applying for an Erasmus+ staff mobility grant to travel to UQ (and a variety of other destinations). TUM staff are required to apply directly to the TUM Global and Alumni Office by the 20th of January. Websites detailing application proceedures for TUM staff are as follows:
