Jess joined International Development as a Global Development Project Coordinator in October 2021. Jess has worked at UQ since May 2016 as a Student Administration Officer for the Faculty of Medicine, a Student Partners Project Officer for the Student-Staff Partnerships team, and most recently as an Internships Coordinator with the Student Enrichment and Employability Development team.

Jess moved to Australia from Wales in 2015 and holds a Master of Science in Mass Fatalities Managements and Victim Identification and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Crime Scene Sciences from Teesside University. She has experience in supporting the coordination of large-scale initiatives such the Student-Staff Partnerships Initiative at UQ between 2018-2019, the largest initiative of this kind across any Australian University at the time.

As a Global Development Project Coordinator Jess will support the implementation of the Global Development Impact Plan (2021-2025) in the establishment and coordinator of UQ’s Global Development Hub. The Global Development Hub will serve as a virtual connection point for internal and external stakeholders to engage with UQ on development activities, with the aim to harness UQ’s broad range of global development expertise spanning development practitioners, academics, early career research, students and teaching and learning staff.
