Johan manages the Global Sponsorship and Mobility teams. The teams in this portfolio look after sponsored students, Australia Awards scholars, a wide range of UQ international scholarships, mobility programs including NCP Scholars and the NCP Mobility Grants as well as exchange students.
Johan brings a wealth of knowledge having worked at The Australian National University in the international portfolio for over 10 years, for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Swedish Department of Defence and as Director, Study Canberra for the ACT Government. He has received several industry accolades for his contribution to the international education sector and Johan is an Associate Fellow of the International Education Association of Australia.
Originally from Sweden, Johan completed his undergraduate qualification at Lund University, Sweden, where he studied at UQ through Universitas 21. In addition, Johan has received scholarships to study at Harvard University, Griffith University and recently at The Australian National University where he completed a postgraduate qualification in management.
