
Matt Glue holds a Master of Science in Tropical Marine Biology from the University of Essex and possesses over a decade of experience leading marine conservation initiatives across South East Asia, the Caribbean, and Australia. As the Asia-Pacific Regional Marine Lead at Fauna & Flora International, he supported the development and improved management of over 20 Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), Locally Managed Marine Areas (LMMAs), and Other Effective Conservation Measures (OECMs), safeguarding vital marine ecosystems. His work has centred on blue carbon strategies, enhancing climate resilience through coastal habitat conservation. Matt has collaborated with NGOs, Indigenous and local communities, and government agencies, managing projects with budgets exceeding £7 million. His expertise encompasses coral reef monitoring, rehabilitation, and ecosystem-based climate solutions, utilising tools such as Mermaid, Reef Cloud, and the Allen Coral Atlas. Passionate about bridging science with on-the-ground conservation, he remains committed to advancing marine biodiversity protection, blue carbon initiatives, and sustainable coastal management through collaboration and data-driven solutions.
