Based in Hanoi, UQ's Global Partnerships Vietnam representative fosters engagement with Vietnamese universities, government agencies, corporate networks, and non-governmental organisations, while supporting alumni in the region.
Collaboration in action
- University of Queensland researchers have partnered with institutes in Kenya, Indonesia and Vietnam to investigate the prevalence of mental disorders in adolescents.
- UQ’s School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences offer four week, interprofessional, intercultural placement (IPIC) opportunities in Vietnam and Timor-Leste to final year occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology students.
- More than 400 University of Queensland students will have the valuable opportunity to travel to the Indo-Pacific region to gain practical experience next year under the New Colombo Plan Mobility program.
- This month, UQ museum studies students have travelled to Vietnam to gain an in-depth understanding of the key issues and challenges facing museums and heritage institutions in the post-socialist state.
- Associate Professor Dr Graeme Were from The University of Queensland's School of Social Science received an outstanding achievement award from the Socialist Government of Vietnam for his support of Vietnamese culture, sport and tourism.
