Collaboration in action
- The UQ–IITD Research Academy recently conducted a series of engagements with industries focused on accelerating research, innovation, and industry collaboration across the India–Australia energy ecosystem.
- Stronger collaboration between universities and industry in India and Australia will be essential to preparing future-ready graduates, according to speakers at the India–Australia Showcase 2026, held at The University of Queensland (UQ) on 27 February.
- The UQ-IITD Research Academy is proud to announce that two of its joint PhD candidates, Mr Debarun Banerjee and Ms Shally Gupta, has received the Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award 2024 in the Social Technological Innovation category. The awards were presented on 28 January 2026 at the CSIR–National Physical Laboratory in New Delhi.
- Dr Pranesh Padmanabhan, an interdisciplinary researcher at The University of Queensland’s (UQ) School of Biomedical Sciences and Queensland Brain Institute (QBI), has been awarded the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Young Alumni Medal 2025, one of only three recipients globally.
- In a major step toward deepening Australia–India research collaboration, The Honorable David Crisafulli MP, Premier of Queensland and Minister for Veterans, visited the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) on 1 September 2025 with a high-level delegation. The visit highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Queensland and India in science, technology, and education.
- The University of Queensland (UQ) and the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) Research Academy, in partnership with the CSIR National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO), have won a fellowship grant from the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI).
