About
The annual German-Australian Science and Innovation Day remains a popular standing feature of Brisbane German Week and is in its eighth iteration this year.
This event provides senior and junior researchers near and far including students from the two local German Immersion schools (Kenmore SHS, Ferny Grove SHS) as well as representatives from the government and the private sector an opportunity to present latest developments, funding models, and learn from successful engagement models.
These discussions have nurtured a ‘Team Brisbane’ attitude across all research institutions, which was essential in progressing significant agreements in areas such as MedTech or more recently bioeconomy. The Brisbane-based GER-AUS research community is cohesive and strong, and it inspired the formation of the Australia-Germany Research Network (AGRN) launched in November 2018.
