Collaboration in action
- Recently The University of Queensland (UQ) was a major contributor to the “Key Technologies in Bioeconomy (KTB)” conference, an annual event initiated and organised by the Global Bioeconomy Alliance (GBA) and hosted this year by the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) in Brazil.
- The sustainable manufacture of bio-based herbicides is the target of a $1.3 million international collaboration initiated by the Global Bioeconomy Alliance (GBA).
- Following the competitive selection process, nine outstanding initiatives have received funding totalling $76,660 in the latest UQ Global Strategy and Partnership Seed Funding Scheme.
- Leading researchers from The University of Queensland, the Technical University of Munich (TUM), and São Paulo State University (UNESP) came together in December to discuss the future of food.
- Sustainable Minerals Institute and University of Geneva researchers explore ore-sand as a sustainable source that could reduce the volume of waste produced by mining.
- Nine excellent initiatives have been approved for $74,350 in funding in the 2021 UQ Global Strategy and Partnerships Seed Funding Scheme. A total of 19 eligible applications were received for this round, amounting to $171,350 in requested funding.
