Collaboration in action

  • The horrifying outcomes of war in Africa motivated former Kenyan occupational therapist, Mohamed Sheikh Yussuf, to change career paths and study at The University of Queensland.

  • Rosemary Akinyi Wanasunia, an Agribusiness short course participant in 2017, is a County Program Coordinator at the Agricultural Sector Development Support Program in Kenya.
  • Muma Bwalya Munansangu, an Agribusiness short course participant in 2017, is a development specialist working for the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission, a government agency aimed at providing broad-based empowerment to citizens.
  • Vivian Turkson, an Agribusiness short course participant in 2017, is a Women in Agriculture Development Officer with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Ghana. Vivian's role involves delivering projects that impact the lives of women, especially in farming and agribusiness through income generation and empowerment. 
  • Rosemary Akinyi Wanasunia, an Agribusiness short course participant in 2017, is a County Program Coordinator at the Agricultural Sector Development Support Program in Kenya. Rosemary’s project had three objectives:

  • Female sapphire miners in Madagascar are among the nation’s hardest workers and poorest people, but their future is looking brighter, thanks to University of Queensland research.
