Collaboration in action
- 10 collaborative research projects have been approved for $80,236 in funding in the 2021 UQ Global Strategy and Partnerships Seed Funding Scheme. A total of 17 eligible applications were received for this round amounting to $147,067 in requested funding.
- An Indian student who grew up in a slum in Delhi will have access to an international education thanks to The University of Queensland’s partnership with Asha – an Indian non-profit organisation which improves the lives of slum dwellers.
- The University of Queensland received nearly 1.3 million in New Colombo Plan (NCP) mobility grants to support 367 students across 22 projects in 13 host countries.
- Raising her voice to end poverty, inequality or tackle climate change, Runali Maniya’s startup SDG Impactors wants you to wear the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals as a t-shirt to Leave No One Behind.
- As the world looks to tighten up the illegal capture of wildlife, migratory birds are being threatened by widespread and unsustainable hunting across the Asia-Pacific region.
- Clinical psychologist and PhD student, Indupriya Babu, has been recognised for her research into risk-taking, and why men are more likely to experience road traffic accidents.

Indian students are the second-largest international cohort at UQ, with PhD studies, the Post Graduate Business, Bachelor of Engineering, among the most popular program choices.
The UQ Indian Student Club (UQISC) also supports Indian students and provides a platform to celebrate Indian culture with festivals, DJ and movie nights, Chai nights, games and social sports, educational workshops and Meet and Greets.
