The Maitri Fellowships program supports leading policy researchers to undertake secondments with prominent Australian and Indian thinktanks. The program will build institutional links and academic capacity in both countries, and enhance public discourse on our bilateral, economic and broader geostrategic relationships.

UQ and the Technical University of Munich (TUM) partnership fosters innovation and encourages entrepreneurial thinking, meeting the future-focused needs of our students, peers, industry, and government collaborators. In support of this vision, UQ offers the UQ-TUM Partnership Research Collaboration Grants Scheme to promote a broadening of collaboration between UQ and TUM.

TUM and UQ have established a joint supervision program for doctoral candidates. The program aims to strengthen research linkages and provide opportunities for doctoral candidates from each university to extend and enhance their doctoral research work.

Doctoral candidates from TUM participating in the joint supervision program will be enrolled as non-award doctoral candidates at UQ for stays of at least 12 months. There are 4 preferred intakes at UQ each year in January, April, July and October. Applications should be submitted three months in advance of commencement.
VAJRA Faculty Scheme is to bring a strong international connect to the R&D ecosystem of India. The scheme offers adjunct / visiting faculty assignments to overseas scientists, faculty members and R&D professionals including Non-resident Indians (NRI) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) to undertake high quality collaborative research in Public funded academic and research Institutions of India.

Global Initiative for Academic Networks (GIAN) in Higher Education aimed at tapping the talent pool of scientists and entrepreneurs internationally to encourage their engagement with the institutes of Higher Education in India so as to augment the country's existing academic resources, accelerate the pace of quality reform, and elevate India's scientific and technological capacity to global excellence.

A unique postdoc program that funds early career researchers to undertake research at a host institution anywhere in the world, on unconventional projects in life and natural sciences, engineering, medicine, and social sciences. The value of the award is CHF100,000 per year (approx. AUD132,000) for up to five years.

U21 offers staff and research students a range of funding options for collaborative projects.

These projects include the International Projects Fund, Research Development Fund and Student Research Fund. Interdisciplinary applications involving multiple health themes and partnership with at least 3 member universities are encouraged.
Applications can be submitted by March 31 or September 30 of each year.

The scholarship can be used to fund research stays for PhD students and Post-Docs at RWTH Aachen University. It offers a travel grant of 1.000€ (lump sum) and a monthly stipend of 1.800€ for a period of up to 6 months.
The Australian-American Fulbright Commission offers scholarships to Australian citizens across all career stages. Awardees take part in an academic and cultural exchange, pursuing research or study at a U.S. institution, experiencing life abroad and bringing back their knowledge and experience to share with their communities in Australia.

The Embassy of France in Australia and the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia recently launched the Social Science Collaborative Research Program. Grants available through this program are for a maximum of AU$5000 and are aimed at providing seed funding to foster the development of a larger social science research programs.
