UQ in Indonesia and Vietnam

UQ has an office in Indonesia and a representative on the ground in Vietnam to foster engagement with universities, government agencies, corporate networks, and non-governmental organisations, and to support alumni and student recruitment in the region.

Collaboration in action

  • UQ architecture student Siubhan Rudge’s aspirations to work in Asia led her to the heat of Myanmar’s capital city Yangon thanks to the New Colombo Plan. Here she discusses the marvel of learning in Myanmar.
  • Leading human rights activist Debbie Stothard will address issues currently facing the South-East Asian nation of Myanmar during a public seminar at The University of Queensland on Monday.
  • Seven University of Queensland undergraduates will study in destinations around the Indo‑Pacific region after being named as 2017 Fellows and scholars under the New Colombo Plan.
  • The University of Queensland has been awarded almost $1 million in the latest round of Federal Government New Colombo Plan mobility program funding.
  • The provision of professional and contract management services for the Vale Malaysia Minerals Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program in Malaysia is a long-term commitment to contribute to the sustainable development of Vale’s neighbour communities in Manjung by supporting livelihoods and socio-environmental outcomes.
  • The University of Queensland hosted diplomatic leaders from almost 70 countries at an Ambassadorial Reception and Dinner at the National Arboretum in Canberra last month.
