Indonesian student Muhammad Ammar Hidayatulloh completed a Master of Development Practice at UQ with flying colours. He fully embraced his Australia Awards Scholarship and now feels more confident and resilient than ever.

Laotian Master of International Relations student Douangmala Souknilanh found the staff and students at UQ helpful and welcoming. Despite initially struggling to settle in due to COVID-19, Douangmala has adapted to university life in a foreign country. She looks forward to completing her degree at the end of 2021 and sharing her story with her friends back home.

Last month, The University of Queensland (UQ) hosted the 2021 Research Development Impact (RDI) Conference. Held online, this year’s Conference focused on the future of sustainable development and socio-economic recovery in the Pacific and Southeast Asia regions.

10 collaborative research projects have been approved for $80,236 in funding in the 2021 UQ Global Strategy and Partnerships Seed Funding Scheme. A total of 17 eligible applications were received for this round amounting to $147,067 in requested funding.

The Australia Awards and Alumni Engagement Program – Philippines (AAAEP-P), in collaboration with The University of Queensland (UQ), delivered a short course in Gender, Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Mainstreaming to a number of civil service agencies from June 2020 to March 2021.
