UQ in Indonesia and Vietnam
UQ has an office in Indonesia and a representative on the ground in Vietnam to foster engagement with universities, government agencies, corporate networks, and non-governmental organisations, and to support alumni and student recruitment in the region.
Collaboration in action
- Last month, The University of Queensland (UQ) hosted the 2021 Research Development Impact (RDI) Conference. Held online, this year’s Conference focused on the future of sustainable development and socio-economic recovery in the Pacific and Southeast Asia regions.
- 10 collaborative research projects have been approved for $80,236 in funding in the 2021 UQ Global Strategy and Partnerships Seed Funding Scheme. A total of 17 eligible applications were received for this round amounting to $147,067 in requested funding.
- The Australia Awards and Alumni Engagement Program – Philippines (AAAEP-P), in collaboration with The University of Queensland (UQ), delivered a short course in Gender, Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Mainstreaming to a number of civil service agencies from June 2020 to March 2021.
- In a world first, a satellite-based global coral reef bleaching monitoring system will scan the Earth’s oceans for coral-killing bleaching events in real-time.
- A University of Queensland researcher is helping train 'animal-disease detectives' to protect animals and humans from the threat of future pandemics.
- The University of Queensland received nearly 1.3 million in New Colombo Plan (NCP) mobility grants to support 367 students across 22 projects in 13 host countries.
