UQ in Indonesia and Vietnam

UQ has an office in Indonesia and a representative on the ground in Vietnam to foster engagement with universities, government agencies, corporate networks, and non-governmental organisations, and to support alumni and student recruitment in the region.

Collaboration in action

  • A landmark partnership will help to accelerate the future development, manufacture and distribution of a University of Queensland COVID-19 vaccine.

  • An international team of researchers has tested more than 10,000 compounds to identify six drug candidates that may help treat COVID-19.
  • The University of Queensland’s potential COVID-19 vaccine is entering an important new phase of testing with the live coronavirus to determine how effectively it induces protection against coronavirus infection.
  • Across UQ, nearly 100 researchers from a range of disciplines are banding together to prevent, better diagnose and treat breast cancer – an insidious disease that affects millions of lives around the world each year.
  • Researchers from UQ and the Universitas Negeri Papua (State University of Papua) are taking up the challenge of developing HIV education for customary leaders in rural and remote areas of West Papua province so that they can support HIV prevention and care.
